I’m proud to be part of the celebration of the opening night of the Washington National Opera’s “Carmen” at the John F. Kennedy Center for the performing arts! The production will run from Saturday, September 19, 2015 through Saturday, October 3, 2015.
From the Kennedy Center website: “Smoldering with sensuality and danger, this production of Bizet’s most famous opera pulses with erotic power–from Carmen’s rousing “Habanera” aria to the famous “Toreador Song”–all culminating in a spectacular finale at a bullfight.”
Following tonight’s opening performance, we will be hosting a Diamond Anniversary Dinner with the cast to celebrate this wonderful event.

Guests heard from Smith, the president’s top technology adviser, about plans to bring technology solutions to some of the country’s biggest challenges.
“We have started a ‘cyber-sprint’…very quickly to audit everything that’s going on and make a couple really fast upgrades that we need to just fill a bunch of holes. … I think what you’re seeing is a real collaborative set of people coming together and starting to work together,” Smith explained.
