Connie's Bakery & General Store, founded by Connie Milstein, is located in Mt. Kisco, New York. After partnering with Northern Westchester Hospital in 2006, a second location was opened in the hospital's main lobby. Connie's Bakery is socially-responsible and gives 100% of its net profits to charity. The more it sells, the more it can give!
The Social Mission
The first mission of Connie's Bakery is to donate its net profits to charities. Each year, six charities will be selected to be featured partners of Connie's Bakery, which will also give the charities more exposure to the community.
The second mission of Connie's Bakery is to provide a one year, full-time baking apprenticeship program to its employees. Through this program, apprentices train under Executive Pastry Chef Simeon Manber. After completing their apprenticeship, Connie's Bakery helps its employees move into higher level jobs in the food service industry and then recruits a new group of apprentices for the next year.
