Several of America’s military heroes were honored at the 26th Annual White House Correspondents’ Garden Brunch on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Washington, D.C.
Jean Case presented the WHC Garden Brunch “Be Fearless” Award in recognition of a veteran’s fearless leadership to Lt. General Gwendolyn Bingham who has broken barriers and served the country with distinction throughout her more than 30 years in the U.S. Army.
Jay Leno also presented a Purple Heart recipient, U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Angela Morales-Biggs of Manassas, Virginia, with the WHC Garden Brunch “Champions of Freedom” Award and the keys to a brand new, payment-free Nissan Pathfinder. The presentation was sponsored by Wells Fargo and the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
Blue Star Families, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, also brought several military members and their spouses as guests to the Garden Brunch. The Blue Star Neighbors Celebration on May 14 in Washington, D.C. will celebrate the spirit of America – the kindness of military supporters across the country and their impact on the military family community.
Compass Coffee and Dog Tag Bakery also provided support and food for the event.
